Safety and Security suggestions
The following are suggestions being offered by our Board

Important information regarding recent thefts of garage items and cars:

Park your car in your garage. It’s much safer locked in a garage than out on the street.

Keep all garage doors locked and consider locking your vehicle even while locked in your garage.

Keep all items in your vehicle out of sight. Avoid creating a temptation for thieves to break in and rummage through your belongings.

Ask a neighbor to keep an eye out for packages if you won’t be home to collect them immediately.

Call Novato PD and report all instances of theft, no matter how small. It’s important for the local police to know where activity might be occurring.

We don’t have a high level of theft in our community, but let’s make sure we don’t look the least bit attractive to thieves.

For those having installed ‘Security Cameras’

One can register your security cameras with the Novato Policy Department (NPD).
The link is —  novato.org/scram
By registering, the NPD does not get access to your camera’s live stream. It does offerer the Police Department knowledge of a camera having been installed and its location. The NPD then could contact you asking for a copy of stored video if something occurred in your vicinity.
